“This year’s Color of the Year is powerful and empowering. It is a new animatedred that revels in pure joy, encouraging experimentatio and self-expression without restraint, an electrifying, and a boundaryless shade that is manifesting as a stand-out statement. PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta welcomes anyone and everyone with the same verve for life and rebellious spirit. It is a color that is audacious, full of wit and inclusive of all.” – Pantone
The influence of Pantone's "Viva Magenta" was always going to be widespread and of course it has been seen all over the runways.
At Hermes, the looks stunningly combined tones of deep red, burgundy, plum and wine, all displayed against an ombre amber brown backdrop. The result was moody and perfectly resembled the autumn leaves we will see falling soon. Mixtures of textures like knitwear and suede, gave a cozy feeling and got us super excited for the cooler weather ahead.
Valentino and Todds took a more maximalist approach, with head to toe bright red looks complete with matching accessories and even hosiery. The result? Bold and impactful outfits that command attention and will ultimately be a hit of that "dopamine dressing" to get you through the typically darker days of winter.
At Johanna Ortiz, we saw a more subdued take with stunning prints incorporating multiple berry tones together to create a soft, trans-seasonal offering.
So whether you are feeling bold and drawn to a head-to-toe red look or wanting to opt for something subtle like a deep burgundy leather boot to switch it up from your regular black boot, explore our collection of berry toned styles to help you elevate your look for AW23.
