TREND ALERT: High Summer Textures

Posted by Nikki Holloway on

Ah Summer! A time of sun-kissed skin, salt water, hot days and long balmy nights. When it comes to this time in the season, we always look forward
to breaking out some new shoes that really give off a true "summer vibe".

From top designer runway shows we saw lots of natural fabrics such as
linen and fibres like raffia juxtaposed with fun, bold pops of colour or metallics for Summer. There was a
real focus on traditional, heritage textures such as braiding and weaving made popular by Bottega Veneta in
all sorts of materials like leather and
raffia. There were also espadrilles in various iterations on the runway from
Christian Dior, Ulla Johnson and
Simon Rochas.

We love these summery styles paired with white outfits or beautiful bold prints.

FUN FACT: Did you know that espadrilles actually started out as shoes for peasants and infantry in Early Spain? They were first written about in 1322 in a Catalan text and now (almost 700 years later) they are a style that is now considered a high-fashion statement piece, synonymous with summer!

So are you ready to inject some linen, raffia or soft leather into your wardrobe to take it up a notch for the rest of summer? Explore our collection of styles below that will be sure to make you feel like you are on vacation (even when you're not!)
