Trend Alert: Western Inspired Boots

Western-inspired boots have been making a widespread comeback for the last few seasons but do you know where it all started?

Cowboy boots were originally designed for true working cowboys in the 1800s in the Midwest and far western US, adapting the vaquero-style boots from Spain that had been brought over in the 1600s.

San-Antonio based heritage brand Lucchese was the first to formerly capitalize on the style and bring these cowboy-style boots at an affordable price to reach workers.

Western-themed Hollywood movies during the 1920s & 1930s saw a change in aesthetic and rise in more embellished styles thanks to actors like John Wayne.

Since then, designers have been reinterpreting the western boot for seasons, some upgrading the style with elaborate stitching, metal detailing, and fun leather choices. ⁣We love these new and creative updates that put a modern spin on the trend.

Our top tips if you are going to dip your toe in this style...

  • Remember that original cowboy boots were all about longevity. Look for expert craftsmanship, high-quality materials, and timeless silhouettes to get the most out of your boots in the long term!
  • Opting for an ankle height boot will give you the versatility to wear with jeans as well as skirts and dresses in the warmer months.
  • Choose browns, naturals or soft metallics with a stacked leather or cuban heel
  • If you are looking for something dressier - choose black or something with metallic hardware!
